At each grade level, classroom and subject-based teachers will work in conjunction with specialized Math and Science teachers to create a common language of Math and Science across all subjects.
Lamad will be open to all children in grades 6 through 8 with a preference for those residing in Community School District 18.
Lamad will have an extended school day (7:40 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and extended school year (190 days exclusive of Saturday and Summer Bridge).
Lamad will offer a small school environment with small class sizes (an average of 25 students per class, 5 classes per grade).
Lamad will stress the importance of math and science by providing more time than traditional public schools for both subjects every day and integrating math and science across all subjects.
Lamad will offer ninety minutes per day in English Language Arts and ELA standards, particularly writing and speaking, will be integrated across all subject areas.
Lamad will have an academic support program and Saturday Academy for all students, regardless of their competency or level of academic achievement.
